ACCJ members ended the year 2009 in style and “In The Black” at the annual Charity Ball held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at The Westin Hotel Tokyo in Ebisu.

The Las Vegas casino-themed event marked the end of an eventful year for some 390 members from the American business community in Japan, who tried their hands at being high-rollers and whales, all in the name of charity.

Amongst the party revelers, who danced the night away to the big band sounds of the Mike Price Orchestra, were U.S. Ambassador John Roos and his wife, who readily supported the primary charities–namely, the YMCA Challenged Children Project, the Waku Waku Workshop and the No no Hana no Ie (Wildflower House).

Gaming professionals from Bright, Inc. ran the casino floor, which hit the jackpot in terms of ringing in over 1.5 million yen in charitable donations.
